Welcome to the website of the Upper & Bedford Ouse Catchment Partnership, and the home of the Upper & Bedford Ouse Catchment Plan.
We believe that clean, healthy water is vitally important – it is essential for life. It allows the natural environment to flourish; and businesses, agriculture and the economy to prosper. Water in the environment provides a wide range of benefits to society – from supplying drinking water and transporting waste, to being an essential resource for agriculture and businesses and providing transport and food. In addition, water related recreation boosts physical and mental wellbeing.
Catchment Plan
The Catchment Based Approach (CaBA) embeds collaborative working at a river catchment scale to deliver cross cutting improvements to our water environments. The CaBA partnership has produced a Framework document to guide individual Catchment Partnerships in developing their local Catchment Plans.
Water Framework Directive
Implementing our Catchment Plan will improve our watercourses and ponds for wildlife and for people. It will also help us to meet the UK's obligations under the Water Framework Directive.
